I am only posting the pic before the time I will come back and do the rest of my post. my hubby leaves town for 7 days so I am going to hang out with him for a while. i will be back.
My husband served 20 years in the Navy. He retired 3 years ago I still remember exactly what were doing on 911. That day was ingrained in our minds forever. He proposed 6 days later. Life is too short and time to precious to waste. We have many friends and family who also are in the military and are still fighting overseas. Today marks the 9 year anniversary and the beginning of a new world. I treasure the fact I am an a American. I thank all the men and woman who from thatmoment stepped up to secure my freedom. This card is for all those who gave their life for me. I remember your sacrifice God Bless You, and those still fighting for our freedom stay safe and let God be with you.

I have started on a purse it is only in the beginning phases. i will finish tomorrow. I still have some finishing touches. Here is a very basic shot I will add better pics when the project is completely finished.

Altered Ceiling Fan Blades
By Michelle Van Etten Copyright Michelle Van Etten 2010 Provo Craft Supplies Used: Cricut Wall Décor Cartridge Gypsy Vinyl red 12x24 mat Other Supplies: Black paint I used the Krylon fusion but if I had to do it again I would use the Krylon glossy finish. Fan blades any size I used a 52 inch. I have one more blade but needed to repaint it. Directions: 1. I used my gypsy to cut out my phrases from the Wall Décor. 2. The phrases I chose were Imagine, Dream, Inspire, Believe, Wisdom I used the function key of the A with flourishes. All Phrases were 15"x3.5" inches 3. Cut out all the phrases in the red vinyl follow the instructions on the vinyl package. This will produce the a kiss Cut. 4. Now you need to weed out all the small pieces so all that is left is the words. 5. You will have to use the transfer paper to get the words off the mat. 6. Now to prepare the blades. I just cleaned off my old blades that had paint splatters. I did not even tape them off. I painted the blades using the Fusion Krylon paint which was matte finish. I will have to seal the blades with poly acrylic clear coat. 7. Once the blades dried I transferred the phrases to each one of the blades. 8. I wanted to add decoration as I used to sell ceiling fans on Ebay but this room is just way to decorate the fan needed to be less distracting. 9. Now just place the blades back up and enjoy. I have been creating like mad. My day has been all about learning photoshop. I created a banner to my shop and a gift card for each item. I have to say this took me a long time I am not very good at this type work. I like my designs but love feedback. I love learning from others.
Now tomorrow I will be posting tutorial for my project. I know you will love this project too. I have not seen many of these items floating around.

I hope those who are doing the challenge have been having a blast. I know I have. I have been working on so many different projects all at the same time. Today's projects are flower pins and a book I made for Malia. Malia is in Pre-K and has to learn to write her abcs. So I decided to create her a book using my your story, bind it all, and cricut. I laminated the pages so she could use a dry erase marker and be able to keep using this book for many months to come. I wanted something colorful and fun.

I saw these cute aprons in a magazine. I very intrigued because they were usable. I mean that in a positive way, most aprons are pretty but you would not wipe your hands on them. These aprons are made of terry cloth. I loved the idea but knew I could do something similiar but better :) Malia and I sat down and started creating. I made hers first she actually had to add buttons and pick out the trims herself. She even placed them on the apron. i have a ton of fabric so i let her choose she chose Dora. I have never sewn before so this was my first sewing project ever. After completing hers I made mine. i added hand beading lots of crystals and some fun trim and flowers. I love it and can wear it while creating and even wipe my hands on it. We have added a couple new people to our blog role. Jennifer Priest and Sheena have decided to take the challenge. the rules are simple you can start at anytime just start with your day one. Check who is playing along and add them to the bottom of your post. I hope you enjoy my aprons and get many ideas for aprons of your own.
