New 3D Shadow Boxes and Altered Fairy Scraps for CHA!

Our talented DT leader Vicki Chrisman came up with a fantastic idea for two 3D Shadow Box Cards and Crafty Secrets has teamed up with AccuCut to release both of Vicki’s dies at the upcoming CHA Show!  Each of the dies is designed to work great with Crafty Secrets new Altered Fairy Scraps and today is our Design Team Preview to show you these versatile and creative cards!

I created two projects for this reveal both using the fairy scraps. I love the fairy scraps they are so fun to play with. My first project is a shaker box card. the little flowers inside the box move around once the card is open. The cupcake spinned at first but it would not straighten back out and drove me crazy. I cut the two outer edges in half so they would meet in the middle to be tied.

The second project lets just say was a labor of love. I designed this cute fairy outfit for my daughter last year and took these great pictures. i decided to actually use to shadow boxes. The first one has the altered fairy images and the background clear insert. the clear insert was stamped and colored with copic. Than I cut another piece the same size and sandwich them together. the second piece I sprayed with adhesive and covered in sugar coated glitter. I added the fairy scrapes and a stamped image. The outer edge is lined in rhinestone lace.

The inside the of the project was creating using another portrait shadow box card.

Page for Cheryl and Sneek Peek of the New Product from Crafty Secrets.

This is getting crazy I have posted on three different blogs today and created a page. Here is a little about the page i did taken from one of the other blogs. Once the pages for publication have been chosen I can show you the rest of the page instead sneaky peeks. I do have to say i am starting to like canvas there are many things you can do with it. I see some canvas projects in my future. Cheryl sent me this great picture of her daughter at Disney it spoke to me. I found all sorts of fun Disney items I had and started playing. The background i painted white and pink than embossed a tree die cut on the side. Once dry I used a flourish glimmer screen to add a darker pink. The tree I painted with lumineres. I than had a castle and needed fireworks. I added all the different stickles to create the fireworks.

  I am really enjoying the process again. I also remember telling a number of people to do something creative everyday that is how you become skilled at what you do best. This page when you see the whole thing it will make more sense only took a little over one hour start to finish minus stickle dry time. I plan on working on a few more pages but I need to get my crafty secret projects done. As you all know I am honored to be on the Crafty Secrets Design Team we have a big reveal on Thursday. I have sneak peek for you of the amazing new product love it too fun. I am stalking the mailman and trying to get my plate cleared so I can start.

Can you believe I just finished working out I have been trying to workout 5 to 6 days a week. my partner has been sick and I let 2 days slide by, but tonight I decided to go on and workout without her. I am now of too shower and bed. i hope everyone has a super creative day.

Happy Sunday
I finished another fun canvas page today. I have my schedule all messed up so I am unable to get up early or go to bed early. i am up at odd hours and really need my bio rhythms back on track. Not to mention I live in Florida not the north pole why is only 23 degrees outside. This is a cruel choke nature is playing on us as we do not have gloves and winter jackets. I walk outside and freeze. this is when I wish I would bought the UGGS I held off on based on the weather did not warrant them. So here is just a peek at the page I created tonight. I am working on Christmas and Disney tomorrow. I will keep creating until someone steals my mojo fairy again. I feel the fairy might be my friend this year, I am encouraging her to stay. We shall see it is crunch time and so looking forward to CHA. I hope if you will be there we can hang out. Ok it is super late and I need some sleep.

So today I had an amazing time in classes. i am seriously in love with airbrushing. i want to airbrush the world. Sally Lynn is a great teacher and one of those truly nice people. I am so glad i was able to spend some girl time with her she rocks. We wen to Bonefish after the classes, and wouldn't you know it, I parked in a tow away zone. I thought a Publix plaza should be safe well I was so wrong. As Melody would say life's currency this time for me in cold hard cash all of 120.00. I am going to miss my money and my hopes of a air compressor in the near future, but I got to hang out with Sally so it is all good. I felt like a kid in a candy shop so much product in her kits. I will show you pics of my project when I get a chance to finish. I did not get to scrapbook any pages tonight. I will have at least one in the morning. Than off to the gym need to work on a six pack lol. I feel refreshed, renewed and very inspired many cool projects to come.

To New Beginnings and finding the joy in designing again...

   I am staying inspired and created another page today. I am in the lucky 13 "Year in the life of you" group. We have been documenting our journeys this year each artist has been working with the other artist pictures the pages are lets just say completely amazing. I am so honored to be in this group with these ladies. I am also very happy to say that I think 2010 is going to be a fabulous year. It is time to completely enjoy the process again. I found myself while working on this page, I wanted to use a specific brand even though it was not flowing. Finally I had to stop myself and just do what I do best and have fun. I am covered in ink and mist, and I cut right through my hand at one point. I will be working on at least a page a day from now till CHA. I will post sneaks of each project page. I had fun tonight and that was such a wonderful experience. I am headed to classes tomorrow my first classes in years. the Uber talented Sally Lynn is in town and i am going to see her tomorrow. I have my supplies packed and I am ready to learn some cool fun new techniques. I think my word for the year will be " Beginnings". I want to remember that how you start something such as your day will shape how you feel the rest of the day. I want to begin each day with purpose and seekout the enjoyment in the little things. Begin each adventure with eyes wide open so I can fully appreciate all the good around me. Begin all business opportunities with sheer determination to succeed and the organizational tools to excel. So with that said I wanted begin daily posts so now day 2 is in the bag.

Time for change and to start blogging again...

To a New Year

full of new beginnings and incredible adventures.

 
 So I have not been much of a blogger lately. I sort of needed time to regroup a little after last year. My husband changed jobs in October and now works nights. This job came with a great raise but it has my schedule all flipped upside down and around. I vow to be more active on blogging but if you read my blog, comment so i know you are out there and want me to continue blogging. :)
So where to begin last year I stayed local and taught at events all over the US for Canon. They have asked me to sign on for another year. I will be teaching at CK events possibly 13 of the CKC's. I am also working with Provo Craft and hope to have some really cool things to report back in the next week or so. I will be at CHA and looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones. I am not sure if i will be working at a booth or not. I will know later this week. I am working on some cool samples with some fun new product. I also would like to report that the Build a Book will be in colored Canvas. I was so excited when I heard we would have new releases. I have started really working on my photography and I might even start shooting weddings with a well known Photographer here in Tampa. He is incredibly booked so he would like to hire a female shooter. I am honored to be the one he has chosen.

I am redesigning my studio and this is such an enormous challenge. When it is finished I will take pictures and show you my new space. I will tease you and say the room is red and has a mural that says follow your dreams. I went through allot of ups and downs last year. This year it will be different.

I credit my new optimism to Melody Ross. I stumbled across her blog yesterday and became empowered to change things. I am not going to be as she put it a wounded bird watching everyone else soar high above the clouds. I will find a way to enjoy this incredible journey of personal and spiritual growth. My family is the most important thing in my life and they have needed me more than usual lately. For a while I have not been inspired to create but last night I found my inspiration.
I created this calendar using the Urban Lily Calender page and distress inks. The base is a large BAB clear Victorian edge page sprayed with Helmar vellum spray and covered with glitter. I used bottle caps for placement holders for the numbers, multiple trims Prima. The actual whole project uses the cricut cartridge designer's calender for the months and numbers.
